Who We Are
The Hearing Loss Association of America Chicago North Shore Chapter (HLAA CNS) is a group of people with varying degrees of hearing loss. Some of us have had hearing loss for most of our lives, others have experienced gradual or sudden hearing loss, and others turn to us to educate themselves before purchasing hearing aids. Our group includes individuals with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and family and friends of people with hearing loss.
We do not use sign language as our mode of communication. We live in the hearing world.
We host monthly educational meetings on hearing loss. Attending our meetings will help you better understand what it means to live well with hearing loss. We provide information and education in a supportive environment.
Our presentations focus on various hearing loss issues, such as assisted listening technology, communication access in a health care setting, and advocating for communication needs, and so much more.
Attend our free monthly meetings and learn how to live your best life with hearing loss.
Communication access is provided via a hearing loop and live captions.
